Key Responsibilities:
– Record and process Accounts Payable: verify invoices, match purchase orders, post supplier bills, and prepare payments.
– Manage Accounts Receivable: issue invoices to clients and partners, follow up on collections, and reconcile incoming payments.
– Perform daily journal entries, accruals, and adjustments in the accounting system (Odoo or similar).
– Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and customer balances regularly.
– Prepare monthly closing entries, balance sheets, and P&L reviews in coordination with the finance team.
– Maintain and update the fixed asset register and process depreciation entries.
– Support inventory reconciliation and coordinate with the operations team on stock movements.
– Assist in the preparation of VAT filings and compliance with regulatory reporting requirements.
– Liaise with external parties such as auditors, tax authorities, and banks as needed.
– Monitor and flag deviations from budgets, and support cash flow management.
– Track and categorize employee expenses, petty cash, and reimbursements.
– Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS.
– Ensure correct recognition, measurement, presentation, and disclosure of transactions under IFRS (e.g., IFRS 15, IFRS 16, IAS 2, IAS 16, IAS 1).
– Support the year-end financial close process, including finalizing ledgers, reconciling balances, and preparing working papers for auditors.
– Prepare trial balances, lead schedules, and supporting documentation for key accounts.
– Support the external audit process, addressing audit queries and coordinating document submission.
– Ensure proper cut-off procedures for revenue, expenses, and accruals.
– Assist in impairment assessments, fair value estimations, and lease liability calculations where required.
– Maintain proper documentation and audit trails to support accounting judgments and disclosures.
– Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, contracts, and HR files.
– Manage attendance, leave tracking, and employee timesheets.
– Coordinate onboarding and off boarding processes, including document collection, system access, and exit formalities.
– Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal HR policies.
– Support recruitment efforts: post job ads, schedule interviews, and maintain candidate records.
– Handle employee queries regarding HR policies, benefits, and payroll.
– Prepare monthly payroll, ensuring accuracy in attendance, deductions, and benefits.
– Organize and support team-building activities, employee feedback sessions, and engagement initiatives.
– Assist in drafting HR letters (e.g., salary certificates, warning letters, end-of-service letters).
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or related field.
– Proficiency in accounting software (preferably Odoo, Zoho, or similar).
– Strong understanding of Bahrain’s labor laws and VAT regulations.
– Excellent Excel skills and ability to analyze and present data clearly.
– Strong organizational and time management skills.
– High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
– Discretion in handling sensitive employee and financial information.
